Charming little holiday house in Saumane-de-Vaucluse, a village full of history with at the top an impressive 12th century castle.  It is ideally situated between Isle-sur-la-Sorgue with its antique markets, Pernes-les-Fontaines famed for its fontaines, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, Gordes, Arles, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Aix-en-Provence and Les Baux-de-Provence.

 

This lovely little holiday house, situated in the backside of an old stone-made mas (Provencal farm) - also home to the owners, is perched on a hill. It has a tasteful interior with restored French antique furnishings, carefully chosen by the owner to insure your well being. The small but cosy living and dining area provided with a settee, table and chairs, enjoys a well equipped open kitchen. The large window enlightens the comfortable bedroom provided with a two person bed, table and antique wardrobe. You’ll certainly appreciate the bathroom with its Italian shower and wash basin.

 

The holiday accommodation is situated in the country side which ensures an oasis of tranquility with lots of privacy. You will be captivated by the large and sunny garden full of trees where you can have a nice meal or just reading a book. The swimming pool is just a few meters away and has a magnificent view of the Monts de Vaucluse and the Luberon. The property lies next to the ‘Canal de Carpentras’ (Canal of Carpentras) a 69 kilometers long canal where you can walk endlessly alongside the water. Also golf fanatics will be delighted: the 18 holes golf course of the Provence Country Club is just next door.

 

The castle of Saumane-de-Vaucluse is open for public during the months of July and August. In the castle parc jazz concerts and local festivities are regularly held. You can also discover other beautiful areas of Provence such as Avignon - the city of Popes, Orange, Vaison-la-Romaine, the national park of Camargue and Luberon or the authentic villages around the Mont Ventoux. The Route des Vins is not to be missed neither!
